Marks of Preservation, 2024 20x30in Photo on photo paper, bleach, hand sanitizer
This artwork reflects the gradual erosion of culture and identity, something that I have experienced since living far from my own country since 2008. Each mark of bleach and hand sanitizer on the image mirrors the effort it takes to keep language and traditions alive—a constant, deliberate struggle to preserve what distance tries to fade. This is a shared experience, felt worldwide, as families work to protect their roots and retain control over what time and separation seek to erase.
